Updated Planning

Having to redo my planning with having a new idea on sharing the story of Britain's first female serial killer, I only really needed to figure out how I want the story to be told. Coming up with more of a ghost story for this version, here is a document explaining the why I have changed the plot once again with what I will be switching it to.


Now to find the plot:


Coming up with three I could potentially develop on; I am unsure of which to go for. Liking the first two, I think I might skip on the third as other than the start of the idea I don't think I can make the middle and end as interesting finding myself to slow down when coming up with that part. 

Although, before I choose, I did receive an opinion on the whole change made by someone within my target audience. Claiming to find the urban legend idea more interesting, that helps me know that I will be creating something that will work in captivating the audience. Idea-wise at least.

Having to pick now, out of the first and second plot idea, I have sent the two ideas around to six more people who the short will be made for. Asking which sounded more like something they would want to watch; one had suggested the second one as they found it to have a clearer structure.

From another two, the second plot again was chosen by both as they claimed the story to sound more "interesting" and "exciting".

Already, that is half of the audience choosing the second option over the first. All I need really is one more response claiming to want the second story as with that I would be more than happy to begin the pre-production. For real this time.

Hearing back from the last three people, again they all went with the second story telling me that that one had sounded more interesting also saying the second one had appealed to them more compared to the first.

Needing to note what will be needed for my short including the characters and equipment as such, the document holding that information has been embedded below.


Not going into too much detail, it was only the few bits I know as of now that were needed to be listed.

Final Product and Feedback

With the first draft for the short film, in this version there are no added tracks (minus the ringing of the bell). Mostly because this is the draft I had sent over to the sound people allowing them to do as they please with that whole aspect of the short film. Again, I don't get what is up with the quality, for some reason the videos always worsen once uploaded on to YouTube and I have no idea how to solve that.  Besides from that, to give the sound guy time to get together his version of the soundtrack, the next draft will be my version. Using Pixabay mostly to gather to the music bits as that is the most I can do on my own. But with that, at least I have a version ready to go if the freelance composer doesn't get back to me in time with the sound bits he had created for the short. Alongside that, any bits I find that need patching up I will do the best I can there. Post-Production

 As you will know from the Production diary itself, I did have to combine both the production stage and the post-production due to lack of time, and just to get everything done sooner rather than later. And considering the amount of time it had taken to get filming complete, it is a decision I am thankful with myself for taking. Having a separate diary to document the editing process, here it is: Post-production diary.docx from AmyKilbride2 For how long I have been working on the post production, it feels wrong to be done with this part of the project already. With more to wait on before the editing is complete, the editing update that will be based on the audience feedback that will be talked through in the following blog.

Evaluation

Gathering my final thoughts on the entire project, the evaluation has been written up. Using Microsoft Sway being the preferred method for this task due to its use of structure, you link will be uploaded below as always.
